Bridge Design, H&H Analysis and Storm Water Management

The project involved the replacement of an existing multi I-beam bridge with a new precast concrete box culvert and any associated roadway improvements. The existing bridge is classified as structurally deficient and functionally obsolete due to aging and deterioration, and substandard alignment and profile. The new structure will have the increased structure width and improved alignment as well as safety features and eliminating the current speed limit posting at the bridge.
The hydraulic and hydrological analysis and determination of the hydraulic opening of the bridge was an important aspect of the project. The analysis and design program; HEC-RAS; was used for the analysis and culvert design.
